Qualification:

QNUK Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) (RQF). Plus QNUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (Security) (RQF).

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for Door Supervisors who already hold an SIA licence and need to complete the new mandatory Refresher qualification for licence renewal. If your Door Supervisor licence is due for renewal, this is the training you’ll need to stay approved and continue working in the industry.

How it Works

  • Before attending, learners must complete 12 hours of online study. This ensures you are fully prepared for the classroom sessions.
  • We provide access to our online learning portal, with step-by-step guidance and support from our training team, so you can complete the pre-course modules with ease.
  • Once completed, you’ll attend 2 days of in-person training to complete your First Aid, Physical Intervention and security refresher modules.

What’s Included?

This 2-day course combines both the Door Supervisor Refresher training and the Emergency First Aid Security qualification you need for relicencing:

 

  • Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (Security). Learn or refresh vital life-saving skills.
  • Terror Threat Awareness. Recognise, respond to and reduce risks.
  • Vulnerability Awareness. Safeguarding vulnerable individuals, including against spiking.
  • Physical Intervention Skills. Restrictive and non-restrictive interventions, safe searching, use of communications equipment and reducing risks of harm.

Pre-Requisites

Age

All applicants must be over the age of 18

Mandatory

  • Learners must currently hold an active SIA Security Officer licence which is due for renewal or has previously held a licence and has lapsed by no longer than 3 years. After 3 years, learners will be required to retake the full Level 2 Door Supervisor qualification prior to applying for a new licence
  • Learners are required to complete 12 hours of online study and assessment (included in the online course materials) before attending the course in person.
  • Learners must be able to speak, listen, read and write at a level equivalent to Functional Skills Level 1 in English (or higher)
  • Learners must have either a valid passport, valid driving licence or an original birth certificate that has been issued to them within 12 months of birth. Certified copies are not accepted.
  • Learners must be able to produce two forms of proof of address, such as bank statements, utility bills, council tax statement, P60 etc.

Recommended

It should be advised that when applying for an SIA Licence part of the process includes a criminality check (DBS). It is recommended that learners with concerns should use the Criminal Record Indicator, available on the SIA website prior to enrolling on this qualification, to ascertain if they are likely to achieve licenced status.
