From Hospitality to Head Door Supervisor
Fabio’s journey into security didn’t start on the doors – it started in the kitchen. Having worked as a chef, he quickly realised his strengths lay elsewhere.
“I’ve always been a people person. I enjoy interacting, helping others, and being part of the atmosphere.”
With a background in hospitality since the age of 13, moving into security felt like a natural progression. Fabio originally worked at Be At One under a different security provider, before transferring to Bridgegate through TUPE when the contract changed – and he’s been part of the team ever since.
Seven years later, he’s built his entire career with Bridgegate.
Life on the Door: No Two Days the Same
Ask Fabio what a typical shift looks like, and you’ll get a simple answer: wild and wonderful.
During the week, it’s about welcoming regulars and maintaining a safe, friendly environment. Come the weekend, the pace shifts – and unpredictability becomes part of the job.

As Head Door Supervisor, Fabio’s role goes far beyond monitoring entry. He leads his team, ensures protocols are followed, manages welfare both inside and outside the venue, and works closely with local police to support the wider community.
It’s a role that demands calmness, awareness, and strong leadership – especially in high-pressure situations.
A Passion for Developing Others
For Fabio, success isn’t just about his own progression – it’s about the people coming up behind him.
“One of my biggest achievements is seeing the next generation develop.”
He takes pride in mentoring younger team members, including those with ambitions beyond security. One colleague, aiming to join the police, is gaining valuable experience through Fabio’s guidance on policies, procedures, and real-world situations.
“I try to teach in a way that creates a positive response and outcome.”

Recently promoted to Head Door Supervisor, Fabio has seen his confidence and skillset grow significantly.
From managing high-pressure situations to effectively delegating resources across a team, he’s developed the ability to stay calm, focused, and in control – no matter the challenge.
“Team management is massive. Knowing where to place people and how to handle situations properly makes all the difference.”
